Kia Corporation achieved record-breaking global sales of 3,089,457 vehicles in 2024, a 0.1% increase from 2023. This success was driven by the launch of new models, including the Kia EV3, K4 sedan, and a hybrid Carnival MPV, along with improved production and supply. For 2025, Kia aims to sell 3,216,200 units globally.
Kia’s previous sales record was 3,087,384 units in 2023. The 2024 sales represent a slight increase, demonstrating continued growth for the company. The company aims to further increase sales in the coming year.
Sales outside of Korea rose by 1% to 2,543,361 units, excluding special purpose vehicles. Domestic sales in Korea decreased by 4.2% to 540,010 units.
December 2024 saw a significant monthly increase in global sales, up 11.8% to 240,537 vehicles compared to December 2023. This strong finish contributed to the overall annual record.
Sportage SUVs of Kia
The Sportage SUV led global sales with 587,717 units sold. Following closely behind were the Seltos SUV with 312,246 units and the Sorento SUV with 280,705 units. These popular models contributed significantly to Kia’s overall success.
“The company’s best-ever annual sales was supported by the launch of competitive new models such as the Kia EV3, — as well as the new K4 sedan, and hybrid model of the Carnival MPV — along with stabilised industrial conditions and flexible business operations that increased vehicle production and supply,” stated the company.

Kia intends to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle market and maintain sales momentum. This will be achieved through expanding the EV lineup, launching key models, and growing the Purpose-Built Vehicle (PBV) business. In 2023, Kia sold 2,518,016 units outside of Korea and 563,660 units within Korea.
