TUV SUD partners with NATRAX to enhance automotive testing in India

TÜV SÜD and NATRAX (National Automotive Test Tracks) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today. This partnership allows TÜV SÜD to conduct EMI/EMC tests at its Bengaluru facility for vehicles and components according to Indian standards. The collaboration aims to streamline the certification process for manufacturers seeking Indian approval and expand market access opportunities, both domestically and internationally.

The agreement leverages the expertise of both organisations in testing and certification, offering manufacturers a more efficient and cost-effective route to compliance. It also facilitates knowledge sharing in emerging technologies like AI and cybersecurity.

What does it signify?

TÜV SÜD, a subsidiary of the TÜV SÜD Group, is a leading company specialising in certification, testing, auditing, inspection, and training. NATRAX is a premier testing and certification agency officially recognised by the Government of India under Rule 126 of Central Motor Vehicle Rules. The MoU allows TÜV SÜD to conduct tests at its Bengaluru facility and the results will be recognised by NATRAX. This recognition is crucial for issuing Type Approval and Conformity of Production certificates. Manufacturers need these certificates to comply with Rule 126 of the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR).

A public-private partnership

This agreement creates a public-private partnership to deliver high-quality EMI/EMC testing services at TÜV SÜD's Bengaluru facility. This centralised testing location offers a more convenient and economical solution for manufacturers across India, especially those in Delhi/NCR and other manufacturing hubs. The streamlined process reduces time and costs associated with obtaining necessary approvals for both domestic and international markets.
