ADSW 2025 drives USD 10 trillion push for global sustainability transformation

The Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) 2025 concluded on January 18, emphasizing global collaboration to unlock a USD 10 trillion economic transformation opportunity through sustainable development initiatives.

The event, hosted by Masdar under the patronage of UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, was attended by over 50,000 participants from 170 countries, including 13 heads of state, 140 ministers, and 3,500 business and civil society leaders.

ADSW 2025 featured discussions on energy systems transformation, artificial intelligence in sustainability, and green investment patterns. The Zayed Sustainability Prize Awards Ceremony recognized 11 organizations and schools for contributions in health, food, energy, water, climate action, and education.

The event included the Green Hydrogen Summit, focusing on accelerating the adoption of green hydrogen, and the Youth 4 Sustainability program, which engaged youth in climate solutions.

Masdar announced the launch of a round-the-clock renewable energy project combining solar power and battery storage, delivering 1 GW of baseload power. Agreements were also signed to develop 1 GW of clean energy projects in the Philippines.

The event concluded with The Festival at Masdar City, attended by 12,000 people, and was powered by 305 MW of clean energy provided by Emirates Water and Electricity Company (EWEC). Key partners included ADNOC, DEWA, Mubadala, and HSBC.
