This latest expansion is expected to create more than 300 new jobs over the next three years, contributing to the local economy and fostering industrial growth in the region, the company said in a media release.Magna, one the world’s largest automotive suppliers and a leading mobility technology company, has opened its new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Maharashtra. The facility spans 65,000 sq. ft. and is dedicated to producing advanced latches and mirrors for automotive applications primarily supporting customers in western India.

Magna currently employs 7,000 people in India across 14 manufacturing and assembly facilities, as well as five engineering, product and sales offices across India.

The inauguration ceremony featured plaque unveiling by Jeff Hunt, President Magna MML (Mechatronics, Mirrors, and Lighting), along with the local leadership team and other Magna representatives. The event celebrated the hard work and dedication of everyone involved in bringing this facility to life, the company added.
