Ola Electric has launched a new range of electric scooters, the Gig and S1 Z series, aimed at expanding access to electric mobility in India. The company is offering these scooters at introductory prices ranging from INR 39,999 to INR 64,999. Reservations began today with an INR 499 deposit. The new scooters offer removable batteries and target various customer segments, including gig workers and personal commuters, for both rural and urban use.
Deliveries
Deliveries are slated to commence in April 2025 for the Gig series and May 2025 for the S1 Z series. Ola Electric also introduced the Ola PowerPod, a portable battery that functions as an inverter, and announced its Roadster motorcycle series.
The new Gig and S1 Z scooter series are designed to be durable, reliable, and affordable, catering to diverse needs. Ola Electric aims to further accelerate EV adoption with this expanded portfolio, offering a wider array of choices for consumers. The company hopes to democratise electric mobility and contribute to the reduction of reliance on internal combustion engine vehicles.
Ola Gig
The Ola Gig is specifically designed for gig workers engaged in short trips. It features a robust design, removable battery, and essential safety features. The Gig offers a 112 km range (IDC-certified) and a top speed of 25 kmph. It is equipped with a 1.5 kWh removable battery, a hub motor, and 12” tires. The introductory price for the Ola Gig is INR 39,999, and it will be available for B2B purchases and rentals.
For gig workers undertaking longer distances and carrying heavier loads, Ola Electric has launched the Ola Gig+. This scooter has a top speed of 45 kmph and offers the option of a single or dual removable 1.5 kWh battery, providing a range of 81 km with a single battery and 157 km with two batteries (IDC-certified). It is powered by a 1.5 kW peak output hub motor. The Ola Gig+ is priced at INR 49,999 (introductory price) and is also targeted towards B2B purchases and rentals.
Ola S1 Z
The Ola S1 Z is designed for personal urban commuters. It emphasises style, performance, and convenience for navigating busy roads. This scooter features dual removable 1.5 kWh batteries, offering a 146 km range (IDC-certified) and a top speed of 70 kmph. Other features include an LCD display and a physical key. With a 2.9 kW hub motor, the S1 Z achieves 0-20 kmph in 1.8 seconds and 0-40 kmph in 4.8 seconds. The introductory price for the Ola S1 Z is INR 59,999.
The Ola S1 Z+ caters to both personal and light commercial use. It features a robust build for durability and extended range, making it suitable for small business owners and individuals involved in light commercial activities. The S1 Z+ also has dual removable 1.5 kWh batteries, offering a 146 km range (IDC-certified), a 70 kmph top speed, 14” tires, an LCD display, and a physical key. Powered by a 2.9 kW hub motor, the S1 Z+ achieves 0-20 kmph in 1.8 seconds and 0-40 kmph in 4.7 seconds. The introductory price for the S1 Z+ is INR 64,999.

Ola PowerPod
The Ola PowerPod is a portable power source designed to work with Ola's removable batteries, allowing them to function as inverters. It can power small appliances and devices with a maximum output of 500W. The PowerPod has a 1.5 kWh battery capable of providing power for three hours to run five LED bulbs, three ceiling fans, a TV, a mobile charging device, and a Wi-Fi router. The PowerPod is priced at INR 9,999.
In addition to the new Gig and S1 Z range, Ola Electric offers the S1 Pro priced at INR 1,34,999 and the S1 Air at INR 1,07,499. The S1 X portfolio includes the 2 kWh, 3 kWh, and 4 kWh variants priced at INR 74,999, INR 87,999, and INR 101,999, respectively.
