Government regimes and technology roadmaps

Nov 14, 2024

The biggest global news of the month so far is the election of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the USA. Trump’s election may not be a cause of cheer for Electric Vehicle (EV) industry players, with an interest in USA, as he had made clear his anti-EV stance earlier. However, once he assumes office in January, chances are that it may change.

The reason? Tesla CEO Elon Musk, a close aide, is now also appointed as co-leader of a newly formed ‘Department of Government Efficiency’ by Trump. EV industry players may not be so worried now.

Interests of a country’s government regime influences technology roadmaps, but in some cases it can be more significant if the leader holds some rather strong views. What remains fundamentally important though, is a framework of sustainable policies.

Innovations for EVs

Irrespective of what the Trump administration decides for the American EV industry, the EV megatrend will see progression. And, innovations in the EV ecosystem will only be more. Like this innovative solution from IIT Indore..
