HMSI strengthened its manufacturing capabilities by opening a third assembly line at its Vithalapur plant in Gujarat and a new engine assembly line at its Manesar facility in Haryana, focusing on CKD exports.

Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India (HMSI) reported strong sales figures for December 2024 and the full calendar year 2024, demonstrating significant growth and highlighting key initiatives in electric vehicles, flex-fuel technology, and expansion of production capacity. The company achieved a 32% year-over-year growth in total sales for the calendar year, exceeding 5.8 million units. This growth was fueled by robust domestic demand and increasing exports. HMSI also marked milestones in domestic sales, exceeding 60 million units, and celebrated regional successes for specific models. The company emphasized its commitment to road safety and corporate social responsibility initiatives.

HMSI sold 308,083 units in December 2024, including 270,919 domestic sales and 37,164 export units. For the full calendar year 2024, HMSI recorded 5,801,498 units sold, a 32% increase compared to 2023. This includes 5,292,976 units in domestic sales and 508,522 export units.

HMSI entered the electric vehicle market with the launch of the Activa e: and QC1. Bookings commenced on January 1, 2025, with deliveries slated to begin in February 2025. Pricing details will be announced at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo.

HMSI expanded its premium motorcycle lineup with the introduction of the NX500 adventure tourer, designed for versatile riding experiences. The company also launched the CB300F Flex-Fuel, India’s first 300cc flex-fuel motorcycle. This model represents a significant step toward more environmentally friendly mobility options.

HMSI celebrated several key milestones in 2024. The company achieved over 60 million domestic sales in India since beginning retail operations in 2001. The Shine and SP125 models surpassed 3 million customers in Eastern India. The Activa scooter achieved over 10 million customers in Southern India.

HMSI launched OBD2B compliant versions of the Activa 125, SP125, SP160, and Unicorn models.

HMSI organized road safety awareness campaigns in over 100 cities, targeting schools, colleges, and government organizations. Eight Road Safety Conventions were also held with school principals and teachers as part of the “Mindset Development for our Future Generation” project. These efforts have reached over 8.5 million people with road safety education.

The Honda India Foundation (HIF) continued its “Project Pragati,” providing training to new and existing GDAs. HIF, in partnership with the Mizoram Youth Commission (MYC) and Visan Foundation, launched “Project Buniyaad - Aathmanirbharta Ka Aadhar,” focusing on employment for marginalized youth. HIF also initiated the “Stree सारथी…steering her own path” program, training female cab drivers at its Institute of Driving Training and Research in Karnal.

HMSI conducted industrial visits for students at its Manesar factory, providing presentations and tours focused on health, road safety, and motorsports. In celebration of World Environment Day, HMSI pledged to plant 100,000 trees across India.
