Mahindra BE 6New Delhi: Mahindra launched the BE 6 and XEV 9e in November 2024 with only the introductory ex-showroom price of INR 18.90 lakh and INR 21.90 lakh ex-showroom. The carmaker has now released the pricing for the top-spec BE 6 Pack Three and XEV 9e Pack Three at INR 26.90 and INR 30.50 lakh ex-showroom. Bookings for the high-end BE 6 Pack Three will begin on February 14, while reservations for the other two variants will open in March. Deliveries are expected to commence around the same time.
XEV 9e Mahindra BE 6 and XEV 9e sales target
Mahindra targets to sell 5,000 units of both new models together in the initial period. Comparatively, in December 2024, Mahindra sold a total of 41,424 units with the Scorpio ruling the charts for the company and clocking 12,195 units in December 2024.
Mahindra’s Electric origin SUVs will also spearhead Mahindra & Mahindra's (M&M) globalisation strategy for its automotive business. According to Rajesh Jejurikar, Executive Director and CEO (Auto and Farm Sector) at M&M, the company’s initial focus will be on gaining a sizable presence in the domestic market. It will gradually move to right hand drive markets like the UK, followed by left hand drive markets later.
Mahindra BE 6 battery and charging
The Mahindra BE 6 will be offered in three variants: Pack One, Pack Two, and Pack Three, with the pricing for the mid-range model still to be disclosed. Customers can choose from two battery sizes: 59kWh and 79kWh. The first owner of the 79kWh variant will enjoy a lifetime warranty on the battery. The ARAI-certified driving range is 556 km for the 59kWh battery and 682 km for the 79kWh variant. The 59kWh battery is coupled with a 231hp motor, while the 79kWh battery pairs with a 281hp motor, both producing 380Nm of torque. The Pack One variant is rear-wheel drive (RWD), whereas the Pack Two and Pack Three feature all-wheel drive (AWD). The 79kWh-powered BE 6 can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
To charge the BE 6, Mahindra offers two AC charging options: a 11.2kW charger, which can fully charge the 79kWh battery in 8 hours and the 59kWh battery in 6 hours, or a slower 7.3kW charger, which takes 11.7 hours for the larger pack and 8.7 hours for the smaller one. These chargers are sold separately.
The BE 6 will be available in eight color options: Everest White, Firestorm Orange, Stealth Black, Tango Red, Deep Forest, Desert Myst, Desert Myst Satin, and Everest White Satin.
Mahindra XEV 9e battery and charging
The Mahindra XEV 9e offers two battery sizes: a 59kWh option and a larger 79kWh version, both driving rear-axle motors. The 59kWh battery is paired with a 231hp motor, while the 79kWh unit boosts power to 286hp. However, both batteries deliver the same 380Nm of torque. The 79kWh model accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.8 seconds.
In terms of range, the 79kWh battery provides an MIDC-certified range of 656 km on a full charge, while the 59kWh variant offers 542 km. Charging options include either a 7.2kW or an 11kW AC charger, both of which must be purchased separately. Additionally, using a 175kW DC fast charger, the battery can be charged from 20% to 80% in just 20 minutes.
