The BE.6 and XEV.9e boast a comprehensive suite of both passive and active safety features.
Mahindra's electric SUVs, the BE.6 and XEV.9e, have achieved a 5-star safety rating on the Bharat New Car Assessment Programme (Bharat-NCAP), setting a new record score. This accomplishment underscores Mahindra's commitment to safety as it enters the electric vehicle market. The vehicles achieved these high scores due to a combination of their INGLO platform, advanced safety features, and MAIA technology.

The XEV.9e earned a perfect 32/32 in adult occupant protection tests and 45/49 in child occupant protection tests. The BE.6 scored 31.97/32 for adult occupant protection and also received 45/49 in child occupant protection tests.

Adding to Mahindra's BNCAP rated list

This achievement also adds to Mahindra’s growing list of 5-star rated vehicles. The BE.6 and XEV.9e join other Mahindra vehicles that have received 5-star safety ratings. The Thar ROXX, XUV300, and XUV400 also earned 5-star ratings under Bharat-NCAP. Mahindra’s XUV700 and Scorpio-N models received the same 5-star rating from Global NCAP.

“The BE 6 and XEV 9e mark the start of a new era not only for Mahindra, but also for automotive safety in India. Built on INGLO architecture and powered by the most powerful mind in the automotive world – MAIA, BE 6 and XEV 9e are engineered to set new standards on all fronts of the automotive experience. The results of the Bharat-NCAP tests are a testament to our commitment to safety and proof that we at Mahindra remain at the forefront of automotive safety, with a desire to continually push the envelope,” said R. Velusamy, President of Automotive Technology and Product Development at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd., and Joint Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile.

INGLO electric platform

The BE.6 and XEV.9e boast a comprehensive suite of both passive and active safety features. These features are enabled by the INGLO electric platform, designed specifically to enhance safety.

The INGLO platform's design places the battery low in the chassis, improving stability and handling, a common concern with SUVs. Integrating the battery pack within the underbody creates a protective cage around the passenger compartment.

The platform incorporates ultra-high-strength boron steel and reinforced frontal structures to maximize safety. It has undergone rigorous testing to withstand extreme temperatures and crash impacts.

Battery safety is a critical aspect of the INGLO platform's design. The batteries used in the BE.6 and XEV.9e have undergone extensive testing to guarantee their safety and durability.

Mahindra’s MAIA technology architecture

Mahindra’s MAIA technology architecture contributes to the active safety systems in both the BE.6 and XEV.9e. These eSUVs include a Level 2+ ADAS suite, incorporating five radars and a vision camera.

The ADAS suite offers features such as driver-initiated auto lane change, lane centering, emergency steering assist, blind spot detection, cross traffic alerts, front collision warning, and automatic emergency braking.

Additional safety features in the BE.6 and XEV.9e include a 360-degree camera. These models also include a VisionX Augmented Reality Heads-up Display (HUD).

Furthermore, they have a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). A blind view monitor enhances visibility. Secure 360 live view and recording functionality provide enhanced situational awareness.

An intelligent electronic brake booster and electronic parking brake improve braking performance and control. Front fog lamps, cornering lamps, auto booster lamps, and seven airbags are also standard.
