The initiative aims to address the rising concerns of air pollution and high fuel costs by encouraging the use of EVs.
The State Government will host a two-day electric vehicle expo for the staff members of the secretariat at Vidhana Soudha from January 17. The event, aimed at promoting adoption of electric vehicles, is jointly hosted by BESCOM and the Secretariat Employees Association.

Energy Minister KJ George will kick off the event in the presence of Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and Additional Chief Secretary (Energy) Gaurav Gupta.

“Leading EV manufacturers are participating in the expo and will offer vehicles at special discounted rates exclusively for secretariat officials and staff. I encourage all Secretariat employees to participate in large numbers and make the most of this opportunity," Bescom Md Mahantesh Bilagi said.

The initiative aims to address the rising concerns of air pollution and high fuel costs by encouraging the use of EVs.

The vehicles purchased at the expo will be exempt from taxes, and the secretariat employees will benefit from low-interest loan facilities. These exclusive offers will be available only during the event, an official release said.
