This comes after a landmark deal between IOCL and SUN Mobility in June 2024 aiming to create one of India's largest battery-swapping networks by 2030. This initiative promises to enhance the country's focus on electric mobility by leveraging IOCL's vast network of fuel stations and SUN Mobility's battery-swapping technology.
Anant Badjatya, who previously served as the CEO of SUN Mobility, brings over 20 years of experience in the energy and automotive sectors to his new role. He will lead Indofast Swap Energy's efforts to develop a wide-reaching battery-swapping network. This network aims to combine Indian Oil’s 37,000 fuel stations with SUN Mobility’s innovative technology, providing practical solutions for two and three-wheeler owners.
