New Delhi: The “2024 Future Innovation-tech eXpo” (FIX 2024), a four-day event held in Daegu, South Korea, concluded successfully on October 26, 2024, attracting 133,118 visitors. The expo showcased cutting-edge advancements in future mobility, robotics, AI, Big Data, and Blockchain, with a focus on fostering innovation and establishing Daegu as a hub for future industries. The event facilitated substantial business networking opportunities, including export consultations that generated USD 1.945 billion.
The “2024 Future Innovation-tech eXpo” (FIX 2024) emphasised its theme, “A Better Future Shaped by Innovation Technology,” by welcoming 463 startups and global corporations. These participants occupied 2,071 booths within the expo, collectively forming an ecosystem designed to drive future industries.
The high level of attendance, surpassing the initial goal of 100,000 visitors, solidified FIX 2024’s prominence in the field of innovation technology. The international conference attracted 81 experts from 13 countries to engage in discussions about future innovation.

Expo at a glance
The Mobility Hall featured electric, hydrogen, and autonomous vehicles from companies such as Tesla, Hyundai, Kia, Samsung SDI, Hyundai Mobis, GM, and KAI. Other companies, including Kumyang, SL Corporation, PHC, and Kyung Chang Industrial, presented essential infrastructure elements like motors, batteries, and electronics.
Tesla’s Cybertruck and Hyundai Mobis’s Mobion, equipped with an e-Corner System, garnered significant interest. Concurrently, the UAM Pavilion featured Joby Aviation’s UAM simulator, providing attendees with an immersive experience.
The West Wing was dedicated to robotics and ABB, featuring industry leaders like HD Hyundai Robotics and ABB Korea. Startups also presented their innovations in AI, Big Data, Blockchain, and semiconductors. Romela’s next-generation bipedal robot, “ARTEMIS,” demonstrated by Dr. Dennis Hong, captivated attendees. Prominent companies such as SK, KT, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) presented their latest technological advancements.
The conference, held from October 23 to October 25, featured presentations from leading tech companies, including NVIDIA. Keynote speakers included Hyundai’s VP Lee Sang-yup, LG’s Dr. Lee Sang-yong, and Dr. Dennis Hong. Their speeches on “Customer-Centric Design,” “Future Mobility Spatial Experience,” and “The Closer Future: Humanoid Robotics,” respectively, drew substantial interest.
FIX 2024 facilitated various business programs, including export consultations, procurement meetings, and investment briefings. The export consultation session, attended by 178 foreign buyers, including representatives from GM and Rivian, resulted in 1,636 consultations. These consultations yielded a total of USD 1.945 billion, creating valuable opportunities for participating companies to expand into global markets.
The procurement session focused on connecting domestic SMEs with major corporations and institutions. With 52 buyers from companies like Samsung and Hyundai, the session facilitated 285 consultations, resulting in an estimated total of KRW 65.47 billion.

The Plug and Play Korea Expo, organised by startup incubator Plug and Play, provided startups with a platform to gain recognition and attract potential investors. This event marked Plug and Play’s first domestic event in Korea.
FIX 2024 received global media attention, further cementing its standing as a leading exhibition for future innovation technology. Eleven international tech media outlets participated in the FIX Innovation Awards, showcasing the winning companies and their products to a broader audience.

The DGIST (Daegu Gyeongbuk Institute of Science and Technology) played an active role in supporting participating companies. The organisation conducted 55 one-on-one technical consultations for 44 companies to address their specific technological challenges.
