Ola Electric launches S1 Gen 3 Portfolio starting at INR 80k

The Generation 3 scooters come with a 3-year/40,000 km warranty for both the scooter and battery. An extended battery warranty up to 8 years or 1,25,000 km is available for INR 14,999.
Ola Electric, India's largest EV company, launched its Generation 3 S1 scooter portfolio. The new lineup features improved performance, efficiency, safety features, and a wider range of battery and pricing options, starting at INR 79,999 for the S1 X (2kWh) and going up to INR 1,69,999 for the S1 Pro+ 5.3kWh (introductory prices). The company also announced continued sales of its Generation 2 scooters at discounted prices, along with the upcoming release of MoveOS 5, extended warranty options, and new Gig, S1 Z scooter, and Roadster motorcycle series.

The Generation 3 scooters come with a 3-year/40,000 km warranty for both the scooter and battery. An extended battery warranty up to 8 years or 1,25,000 km is available for INR 14,999.

The Generation 3 platform boasts a mid-drive motor and chain drive across the entire portfolio. This change enhances performance and reliability, while an integrated Motor Control Unit (MCU) improves range and efficiency. Compared to Generation 2, Generation 3 offers a 20% increase in peak power, an 11% cost reduction, and a 20% range increase. A category-first dual Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and patented brake-by-wire technology enhance safety and energy recovery by 15%.


S1 Pro+ scooters

The flagship S1 Pro+ is available with a 5.3kWh (with 4680 Bharat Cell) or a 4kWh battery, priced at INR 1,69,999 and INR 1,54,999, respectively. The S1 Pro comes in 4kWh and 3kWh battery options, priced at INR 1,34,999 and INR 1,14,999, respectively. The S1 X range includes the 2kWh at INR 79,999, the 3kWh at INR 89,999, and the 4kWh at INR 99,999. The S1 X+ with a 4kWh battery is priced at INR 1,07,999.

Continuing sales of Generation 2 scooters offer discounted prices. The S1 Pro starts at INR 1,14,999. The S1 X (2kWh, 3kWh, and 4kWh) now start at INR 69,999, INR 79,999, and INR 89,999, respectively. These discounted prices offer more affordable options for customers.

The Generation 3 platform marks a significant advancement in electric scooter technology, according to Ola Electric. The improvements in performance, efficiency, safety, and reliability position the new lineup as a leader in the Indian EV market.

The S1 Pro+ models offer a powerful 13 kW motor, achieving top speeds of 141 kmph (5.3kWh) and 128 kmph (4kWh). Acceleration from 0-40 kmph takes just 2.1 seconds and 2.3 seconds, respectively. The 5.3kWh version boasts a 320km range (IDC), while the 4kWh version offers 242km (IDC). Four riding modes (Hyper, Sports, Normal, Eco), dual ABS, front and rear disc brakes, enhanced ergonomics, a two-tone seat, body-coloured mirrors, an aluminium grab handle, rim decals, and an expanded colour palette are included.

MoveOS 5 beta

MoveOS 5 beta will roll out in mid-February 2025. The update will introduce features like a Smartwatch App, Smart Park, Bharat Mood, Road Trip Mode, Live Location Sharing, and Emergency SOS.

Gig and S1 Z scooter range

Ola Electric also announced the launch of the Gig and S1 Z scooter range, including the Ola Gig, Ola Gig+, Ola S1 Z, and Ola S1 Z+. Introductory prices are INR 39,999, INR 49,999, INR 59,999, and INR 64,999 (ex-showroom), respectively. These scooters feature removable batteries for both personal and commercial use. Reservations are open for INR 499, with deliveries starting in April 2025 for the Gig series and May 2025 for the S1 Z series.

The Roadster motorcycle series includes the Roadster X (2.5kWh, 3.5kWh, 4.5kWh), Roadster (3.5kWh, 4.5kWh, 6kWh), and Roadster Pro (8kWh, 16kWh), starting at INR 74,999, INR 1,04,999, and INR 1,99,999, respectively. These motorcycles offer new technology and performance features.
